Last week, FEMA released its updated 2014 NFIP Flood Insurance Claims Handbook. FEMA created the claims guide to provide policyholders with tips about what to do before and after a flood, including filing a claim and the steps involved in appealing a denied claim.

Along with other NFIP resources, the 2014 NFIP Claims Handbook is now available on a special section of the FEMA website. Agents may also sign up to receive NFIP updates directly from FEMA by sending an email request to be added to their distribution list.
