FOCUS: Excess & surplus wholesale broker and managing general agency Risk Placement Services (RPS) recently launched three new transportation products for risks with 1-10 power units. Available to quote, bind and issue online through RPS' Small Business Platform, the suite of new products includes General Liability for Truckers, Motor Truck Cargo for Truckers, and Auto Physical Damage for Truckers.

“In a commercial insurance marketplace that is plagued by long applications and disparate portals, our new digital offering stands out as a simple and comprehensive solution agents can rely on for their insureds," says Mark Gallagher, national transportation practice leader, RPS.

“At RPS, we strive to provide creative solutions to persistent industry challenges that help set our retailer partners apart from their competition," Gallagher added. “This suite of digital transportation products certainly puts us a few miles ahead."

COVERAGE DETAILS: General Liability for Truckers provides coverage for injuries or property damage not caused by the truck operator, which is not typically covered under other insurance plans. It also provides protection from the high cost of lawsuits.

Motor Truck Cargo for Truckers fills the gap where other cargo forms fall short, whether it's paid interest, coverage extensions or payments in addition to policy limits. Auto Physical Damage for Truckers is offered on a stated amount basis with deductibles up to $5,000 and a maximum single-vehicle value of $300,000.

UNDERWRITING: The minimum premium for general liability is $500 but there are no minimums for other lines.

TARGET: Trucking carriers operating in the U.S. with three or more years in business. Operations with 1-10 trucks receive the most preferred pricing. New ventures are also eligible.

COVERAGE AVAILABILITY: All U.S. states except Alaska, Hawaii and Massachusetts.
