On Monday, the Federal Advisory Committee on Insurance (FACI) held its second to last meeting of the year. Quincy L. Branch, Big "I" member and president & CEO of Branch Benefits Consultants in Las Vegas, attended the meeting to represent the interests of agents and brokers on the committee.

FACI is composed of various state government officials, insurance professionals and consumer advocates. Its purpose is to provide advice and recommendations to assist the Federal Insurance Office (FIO) in carrying out its statutory obligations of monitoring the domestic insurance industry and developing federal policy on international insurance matters.

Originally appointed to the committee in 2017, Branch's FACI position has been renewed for another 3-year term. Branch is a second-generation insurance professional and an active Big “I” member who serves on the Big “I” Government Affairs Committee and previously served as chair of the National Young Agents Committee.

"It has been an honor to represent the Big ‘I’ on FACI and I'm looking forward to continuing my service representing agents and brokers at this critical time,” Branch says.

“As an agent and a small business owner, the perspective that Quincy offers on FACI is unparalleled and the Big ‘I’ is thankful for his service,” says Charles Symington, Big “I" senior vice president of external, industry & government affairs.

At Monday’s meeting, FACI members discussed a variety of issues, including Insurtech, data security, the protection gap and developments in the international arena.

Joseph Cortina is Big “I” director, federal government affairs.
