Big ‘I’ Chairman Hits the HillBig “I” Chairman Vaughn Graham was in Washington, D.C. last week meeting with members of Congress, laying the groundwork for the upcoming Big “I” Legislative Conference.

Graham represented Big “I” members and talked with federal legislators about a number of topics important to independent agents, including flood insurance, crop insurance, tax issues and more.

During his visit, Graham met with Oklahoma delegation members Rep. Tom Cole (R-Oklahoma), Rep. Frank Lucas (R-Oklahoma), Rep. Markwayne Mullin (R-Oklahoma), top staff for Sen. James Inhofe (R-Oklahoma) and top staff for Sen. James Lankford (R-Oklahoma). He also had breakfast with Chief Deputy Whip Patrick McHenry (R-North Carolina), and lunch in the members-only dining room of the U.S. Capitol.

While at the Capitol, Graham, Bob Rusbuldt, Big “I” president and & CEO, and Charles Symington, Big “I” senior vice president of external, industry and government affairs, also attended the viewing of Billy Graham in the Rotunda of the U.S. Capitol.

The annual Big “I” chairman’s visit is important, and the association’s government affairs team works the halls of Congress every day. But is also imperative that a strong contingent of Big “I” members come to Washington, D.C. for this year’s Legislative Conference, to take place April 18-20. Register online by March 30.
