TIMBY Specialty Launches Warehouse Legal Liability Coverage

FOCUS: Inland marine program manager TIMBY Specialty Insurance Solutions recently announced the launch of Warehouse Legal Liability Coverage (WHLL), a product tailored specifically for public and contract warehouses that handle third-party property.

This product complements TIMBY’s transportation products and extends its reach into the logistics sector. “Having the proper coverage for warehouse operations is critical to the financial well-being of both the warehouse operator and their clients,” says Tyler Van Spanje, CEO and founder, TIMBY Specialty. “Safeguarding against unforeseen loss and damage helps secure our supply chain and the economy.”

COVERAGE DETAILS: With limits up to $5 million per location, the newly launched WHLL product offers coverage beyond just the storage of goods. It offers options covering additional activities modern warehouse operations encounter, including the handling, repacking and processing of stored goods.

UNDERWRITING: Submission requirements for the product include a completed ACORD 125; supplemental WHLL application, including warehouse location schedule, three years of currently valued loss runs, sample warehouse receipt and merchandise handling contract or agreement; and financials.

COVERAGE AVAILABILITY: All U.S. states except Alaska and Hawaii.

TARGET: Target insureds are public and contract warehouse operations engaged in the business of storing property of others for a fee, including handling and processing operations. The target size is small to medium-sized warehousing operations requiring up to $5 million in coverage per location. Ineligible operations include household moving and storage warehousing, self-storage facilities and warehousing of bulk hazardous, corrosive or flammable liquids.
