Acrisure has purchased the naming rights of the Pittsburgh Steelers' home field, which will now be known as Acrisure Stadium. Acrisure, a financial services technology provider and one of the top-10 largest insurance brokers in America, will take over the naming rights immediately.

Since its opening in 2001, the stadium had been called Heinz Field after Kraft Heinz paid $57 million in a 20-year naming rights deal. No financial terms for Acrisure's 15-year deal were announced but it must have been a lot of cheddar because Kraft Heinz couldn't ketchup, releasing a statement saying that it had worked on a new deal but the Steelers “found a new partner willing to pay significantly more than we could justify." Kraft Heinz will, however, remain a sponsor of the Steelers.

Lately, Acrisure has been scoring a few touchdowns of its own, growing from $38 million in revenue to more than $3.8 billion in approximately eight years. Acrisure has been an active buyer of insurance agencies in North America and closed more than 120 deals in 2021, making it the No. 1 buyer, according to Optis Partners. Not one to drop the ball, Acrisure has closed on 443 acquisitions since 2018, including 14 in the first quarter of 2022.

“The Pittsburgh Steelers are an institution in American sports and a globally recognized brand. Partnering with the Steelers is the opportunity of a lifetime and a tremendous honor," said Greg Williams, co-founder and CEO of Acrisure, who is reportedly a lifelong Steelers fan. “Through Acrisure Stadium, we will increase awareness of the extraordinary advantage Acrisure brings our clients while conveying our strong sense of community."

“Relatedly, we are eager to invest in the Pittsburgh community and the broader region as we chart our course to an unforgettable first season," he said. “This relationship truly embodies and aligns two organizations that have high standards and are determined to achieve great things."

“We are excited to partner with Acrisure for the naming rights to our stadium," said Art Rooney II, Steelers president. “Acrisure provided us with an opportunity to ensure our stadium continues to be a valuable asset for our fans as well as keeping up with the market value of NFL stadiums. We are very appreciative to partner with Greg Williams and his company, and we look forward to a long, beneficial relationship for years to come."
