“Homeowners in California and Colorado are facing a crisis of availability and affordability when it comes to property insurance, and agents are facing an impossible situation—trying to protect clients whose properties carriers won’t touch,” says Pat Blandford, founder and CEO of Green Shield Risk Solutions.

“Guardian Elite Home was created to fill that desperate need,” Blandford said. “Our mission is to make the world more insurable, starting with solutions that give agents the power to step in where others have walked away.”

COVERAGE DETAILS: Guardian Elite Home offers dwelling protection for homes valued between $1 million and $6.175 million and total insured value up to $9.5 million. Policies include coverage for other structures (10%), personal contents (20%), and loss of use (10%). Liability options are available at $300,000 or $500,000, with personal injury coverage as an add-on. The standard limits noted can be modified.

Wildfire-specific benefits include debris removal, landscaping restoration and mitigation support. Additional coverage includes up to $250,000 for water damage with shut-off systems and $10,000 for mold or fungi-related property and liability claims.

UNDERWRITING: Brush clearance and mitigation required depending on location. Rental, vacant or under-construction properties are not eligible. Minimum earned premium is 25% and discounts are available for fire alarms, sprinklers or security systems. Deductibles range from $5,000 to $100,000, while wind, hail and wildfire claims are subject to separate percentage-based deductibles.

TARGET: Affluent homeowners in California and Colorado whose properties are valued between $1 million and $6.175 million. The ideal clients are property owners who have already taken steps to mitigate wildfire risk or are willing to meet mitigation requirements.
