Arch Introduces New Supplemental Health Insurance Products

PRODUCT: Accidental Death & Severe Injury Insurance.

COMPANIES: Arch Insurance Company.

BEST RATING: A+

AVAILABILITY: Appointed agents and brokers.

FOCUS: Arch Insurance’s Accident & Health business unit recently announced the launch of its new Individual Supplemental Health product suite. With an increase in high‑deductible health plans, many families may be left exposed to potential financial strain should an accident occur. Arch’s individual supplemental health and accidental death and severe injury insurance options complement these major medical plans and help minimize that exposure.

“By offering access through our APEX™ digital platform or seamless [application programming interface] integration, we’re making it easier than ever for our distribution partners to deliver these products efficiently and effectively to their clients,” said Jim Villa, senior vice president, Arch Accident & Health.

COVERAGE DETAILS: Arch’s Accident Medical Expense coverage is a true reimbursement coverage. This makes it different from the more common fixed scheduled indemnity that many brokers are familiar with. For covered events, insureds will be reimbursed for expenses incurred up to their selected benefit limit.

Another highlight is that there is no medical underwriting required to obtain coverage. Other plan configurations may include accidental death, accidental death and severe injury, critical illness or hospital indemnity coverage.

TARGET: Anyone under the age of 65 who has a major medical plan in place.

COVERAGE AVAILABILITY: Specific benefits may vary, but our individual supplemental health and accidental death and severe injury products are available through its Arch APEX platform in the following states: AL, AR, AZ, DE, GA, IA, MD, ME, MN, MS, NE, NV, OK, SC, SD, TN, TX, WI, WV and WY.

In the coming months, brokers in 13 more states will be able to use Arch APEX for their individual supplemental health and accidental death and severe injury solutions.
