On this episode of Agency Nation Radio, guests Cash McMillen, national Big “I" Young Agents Committee (YAC) member and vice president at The Cashion Company in Little Rock, Arkansas, and Patricia Clawson, CEO of Clawson Insurance in Weston, Florida, and member of the Florida YAC, talk about renewals in the current marketplace. 

In their conversation, moderated by Taylor Hendrickson, director of the YAC at the Florida Association of Insurance Agents (FAIA) and a member of the Big “I" national YAC, McMillen and Clawson discuss some of the hard market-related challenges they have faced at their agencies with renewals. They dive into how they have managed rate increases and created renewal timelines. They also focus on current challenges with property valuations and remarketing accounts. 

“We want proactive, intentional communication throughout the year, not just when the renewal offer has been issued," Clawson says. “We don't want the first time our client has heard from us all year to be when we are presenting them with a renewal offer."

This session provides helpful information on how to handle renewal conversations with customers, carriers and state insurance departments.
