By Will Jones
PRODUCT: Coalition’s Active Cyber Policy.
COMPANIES: Coalition, with capacity provided by Arch, Aspen, Fireman’s Fund Indemnity Corporation (Allianz), Fortegra and Vantage.
BEST RATING: A+
AVAILABILITY: Appointed agents and brokers only.
FOCUS: Coalition’s new Active Cyber Policy is a reimagined surplus lines, nonadmitted cyber insurance policy, featuring data-driven innovations and comprehensive coverage to protect businesses against evolving digital risks. The Active Cyber Policy is easier to understand, faster to navigate and provides incentives for strong security practices.
As businesses face an expanding array of risks, the product provides simplified, forward-thinking cyber insurance that helps prevent losses before they occur and provides advantages to security-minded policyholders who actively participate in their cyber risk management.
COVERAGE DETAILS: The new Active Cyber Policy replaces Coalition’s original surplus lines cyber policy and features a simplified structure. Previously, many coverages were provided by endorsement. Now these coverages are integrated as insuring agreements within the base policy, making coverage more transparent and easier for brokers to explain. The policy also has a clearer articulation of covered scenarios and triggers, with updated terminology that better reflects today’s cyber landscape.

Empower your agency with smart, strategic technology insights.
For example, coverage for artificial intelligence (AI)-related security events, including protection against deepfake-enabled funds transfer fraud (FTF) and AI-caused security failures, is clearly defined. Further, eligible businesses that resolve critical vulnerabilities identified in Coalition’s unified cyber risk management platform can see their retention amounts decrease, ultimately to zero, with each claim-free year.
UNDERWRITING: Coalition requests basic company details and information about security controls and processes within the application. Coalition uses its innovative Active Data Graph to assess a company’s risk. Active Data Graph is a purpose-built data collection and analysis engine.
COVERAGE AVAILABILITY: All U.S. states.
TARGET: The new Active Cyber Policy is available to organizations with annual revenues of up to $5 billion. Coalition accepts submissions from nearly every industry, excluding adult entertainment, cannabis, casinos and gambling, data aggregators and payment processors.
CONTACT: Brokers can receive a quote in minutes through Coalition’s Broker Platform email a completed application to submissions@coalitioninc.com.
