Writer Submission Guidelines

IAmagazine.com

IAmagazine.com accepts contributions from industry voices, as well as submissions from professional freelance writers, for “how-to” strategy pieces (Strategies), opinion columns (Viewpoints) and market-specific updates (Markets). The word count for these articles is 450-700 words. Writing style must be informative, not promotional, in nature. Target audience is independent agents and brokers, not consumers or companies. Writers receive a byline, hyperlink and organization affiliation with each article.

IAmagazine.com publishes articles on a daily basis and therefore accepts contributions on a rolling basis, with publication date up to the discretion of the editors. Depending on the content type and date of publication, stories appear in either the weekly Markets Pulse e-newsletter, the weekly News & Views e-newsletter or the monthly Fast Focus e-newsletter (circulation approximately 70,000).

IA reserves the right to edit all submissions for style, grammar, length and clarity.

Independent Agent magazine

Independent Agent (circulation approximately 40,000) accepts contributions from industry voices, as well as submissions from professional freelance writers, for departments focused on leadership, sales, HR, marketing, technology, branding and small business topics and trends. The word count for these articles is 350 words, plus a 75-word sidebar.

Writing style must be informative, not promotional, in nature. Target audience is independent agents and brokers, not consumers or companies. Writers receive a byline and organization affiliation with each article. The editorial deadline is approximately 8 weeks prior to each issue’s publication or by prior arrangement with the editor.

IA reserves the right to edit all submissions for style, grammar, length and clarity.

If you’d like to contribute an article, email Jacquelyn Connelly, IA senior editor, or Jordan Reabold, IA assistant editor, to discuss your idea.
