Young Agents
Scholarships Available for Legislative Conference & Convention
Young agents who are first-time attendees may apply for $500, $1,000 scholarships to attend the Big "I" event in April.
The Big "I" Legislative Conference & Convention is a vital industry event to educate legislators on issues important to the independent agency system. Young agents are the future of the industry, and it’s important they are involved in the legislative process.

The Big “I” National Young Agents Committee offers two scholarships to help young agents attend the annual event, which will be April 25 to 27 in Washington, D.C.

First-time young agent attendees may apply for the Maurice Herndon Scholarship. This $1,000 scholarship is presented to one individual in honor of Maurice Herndon, who spearheaded many of the grassroots initiatives that make the Big "I" what it is today. Download the 2012 Maurice Herndon Scholarship application here.

In addition, each state association is eligible for up to two $500 scholarships to assist first-time young agent attendees. State association staff chooses the recipients and must notify national of their selection by submitting one application for each recipient on or before March 16, 2012. A check will be provided to the state association following the event. More information is available from state associations’ young agent liaison.
