Two-and-a-half-year-old Jeremiah suffers from spinal muscular atrophy, a condition that requires him to have around–the–clock nursing care. His mother heard about the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and she says she recognized the emotional healing power of making a wish come true. For her son, she viewed it as a way to bring him comfort, despite his condition.
Jeremiah wished for a bedroom makeover. It’s more than new flooring, furniture and décor: his wish is a daily refuge and a renewal of his independence. Every moment that Jeremiah relaxes in his room, his wish comes true again.
Jeremiah, of the foundation’s Philadelphia and Susquehanna Valley chapter, is one of 11 children whose wishes came true with a $171,590-donation from last summer’s Trusted Choice® campaign.
In July 2011, Trusted Choice aligned with the Make-A-Wish Foundation, which grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to help provide hope, strength and joy. Trusted Choice donated $10 for every new “like” to its Facebook page. During the month-long campaign, the Trusted Choice Facebook page grew by 17,159 new “likes.”
