Broome Co-operative Insurance Company (BCIC) is the newest member of the Trusted Choice® consumer branding program for independent insurance agents and brokers. BCIC, headquartered in Vestal, N.Y., has joined 64 other leading insurance companies nationwide as a Trusted Choice company partner.

Celebrating its 125th year this year, BCIC was founded in 1887 as the Broome County Farmers’ Fire Relief Association, and in 1951 it merged with the Broome County Patrons’ Fire Relief Association. The company was known as the Broome County Co-operative Fire Insurance Company until 2002 when the name was changed to Broome Co-operative Insurance Company.
