Writer Submission Guidelines
Independent Agent accepts freelance submissions for its departments dealing with HR, branding and small business topics and trends. The word count for these articles is 750 to 900 words. IA also occasionally accepts feature stories from freelance writers, with the average feature-length article ranging from 1,500 to 2,000 words.

The editorial deadline is approximately 10 weeks prior to each issue’s publication or by prior arrangement with the editor. IA reserves the right to edit all submissions for style, grammar, length and clarity. The writing style must be informative, not promotional, in nature. Writers receive a byline and company attribution in the bio that accompanies each article.

If you’d like to contribute an article, contact Managing Editor Diane Rusignola at diane.rusignola@iiaba.net to discuss your idea.
